Responsibilities
- Help detect unusual financial activity that may indicate money laundering, fraud, or financial crime.
- Carry out detailed investigations to identify criminal behavior and stop fraud on the platform.
- Use data analysis to find weaknesses and proactively spot potential issues or areas for improvement.
- Examine account and transaction histories thoroughly to identify and explain patterns related to fraud and anti-money laundering typologies.
- Monitor accounts and transactions holistically to support the company's BSA/AML and Sanctions programs.
- Work with other firms to coordinate fraud investigations and recovery efforts.
- Share investigation results with various stakeholders within the organization.
- Create, implement, and update policies and procedures to strengthen the anti-financial crime and transaction monitoring program.
- Research fraud, identity, and user behavior to help build rules, models, and other detection systems.
- Maintain expert knowledge and ensure all work follows relevant regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Help identify process improvements and opportunities for automation.
- Work with Financial Crimes Compliance to ensure fraud and non-fraud cases are properly escalated for investigation and possible SAR filing.
- Partner with Engineering teams to implement automated solutions.
- Collaborate with other product teams to develop new data-driven controls that improve user experience while detecting and preventing fraud.
- Assist the support team in resolving client inquiries.
