About the Role

Hyatt Regency Lake Washington is hiring a seasonal Food Truck Cook for our seasonal Dock & Drink venue. This entry-level role starts in May 2026 and is expected to run through October 2026. You’ll work outdoors or under a covered outdoor kitchen, receiving moderate supervision and training while preparing food in a prep kitchen and food truck environment.

What You'll Do

  • Prepare ingredients including washing, chopping, and measuring according to recipes and chefs’ instructions.
  • Execute cooking and plating recipes under senior cook supervision, ensuring consistency with restaurant standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and stocked workstation throughout service, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Clean the food truck after service, including filtering fryers and unloading dirty dishes.
  • Contribute to daily mise en place by preparing sauces, dressings, and other essential ingredients.
  • Follow all food handling, sanitation, storage, and rotation protocols to maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety.
  • Operate and maintain kitchen equipment properly, including knives, ovens, and blenders.
  • Organize food deliveries by putting away new product into coolers and maintaining proper food rotation.

What We're Looking For

  • Must be over 18 years of age.
  • Fair communication skills.
  • Some previous kitchen experience.
  • A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to stand for long periods in a hot kitchen.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Capability to perform repetitious duties.
  • Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
  • Possession of a valid food handler’s card.

You’ll work under the supervision of senior cooks in a structured, supportive environment focused on learning and maintaining high standards.

  • Compensation range: $23.00 to $30.55 per hour. The starting rate is $23.00.

This is an onsite seasonal position located at the Hyatt Regency Lake Washington at Seattle’s Southport in Renton, WA.
