Harlow's Casino Resort and Spa is seeking an energetic and motivated Food & Beverage Supervisor. In this role, you will support our Food & Beverage management team in a fast-paced, fun environment, supervising daily operations and ensuring top-notch guest satisfaction.
What You'll Do
- Provide leadership support to the management team during a shift.
- Schedule, organize, and train staff associated with the assigned outlets, adjusting staffing levels according to anticipated volume.
- Process cash reads according to established procedures, handling change and following cash handling procedures.
- Assist in maintaining liquor costs, accurate inventory records, and proper storage of products.
- Handle weekly payroll, tip reporting, and records as assigned by management.
- Supervise the assigning of specific duties to employees for efficient operation of the food and beverage outlets.
- Supervise the clean up of food and beverage areas and proper breakdown and storage of equipment.
- Address all guest compliments and complaints and communicate those concerns to management.
- Provide operational relief to staff when needed while stressing quality, courtesy, and service to ensure 100% guest satisfaction.
- In the absence of the Food & Beverage Manager, ensure all opening and closing duties are completed correctly and promptly.
- May assist the Food & Beverage Manager in running the upscale full-service restaurant in all aspects.
- Aid in the supervision of large parties to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Assist in cultivating and training a professional, upscale F&B service staff.
- Aid in exploring and implementing new opportunities to grow the business, i.e., wine tastings, winemaker events.
- Oversee the day-to-day supervision of the front of the house employees of the restaurant in the absence of the manager.
- Hold staff responsible for company and departmental policies and procedures and process appropriate documentation accordingly.
- May issue a complimentary in accordance with the approved comp matrix.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One to two years of supervising experience.
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays, daylight and evening.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety standards in a food & beverage operation.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Previous Point of Sale experience, preferably with Micros.
- Intermediate computer skills to include Microsoft Office Outlook, Excel and Word.
- Willingness and ability to learn additional skills as assigned by management.
- Candidate must obtain appropriate licensing as set forth by the PGCB and Presque Isle Downs.
- Ability to manage, train and help with employee issues.
- Ability to oversee the quality of the employee’s skills as well as the sanitation and area upkeep.
- Ability to independently lead staff and guide guests comfortably under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and a great work ethic.

Team & Environment
You will support the Food & Beverage management team and oversee front of house employees in the manager's absence, reporting to the Food & Beverage Manager.
