About the Role

Evaluate flood risks and design models to reduce hazards. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain flood models using industry-standard software.
  • Conduct hydraulic and hydrologic analyses to assess flood risks.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations for clients and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with engineers and scientists to integrate flood risk assessments into project designs.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior team members.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices in flood risk management.
  • Participate in fieldwork and data collection activities.
  • Contribute to the development of innovative solutions for flood risk mitigation.
  • Engage with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in flood modeling and risk assessment technologies.
  • Review and validate flood models developed by other team members.
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals and project bids.
  • Conduct training sessions and workshops on flood risk management.
  • Support the development of flood risk management strategies for various projects.
  • Analyze historical flood data to identify trends and patterns.
  • Develop and implement flood risk management plans for urban and rural areas.
  • Collaborate with external agencies and organizations on flood risk projects.
  • Provide expert testimony and consultation on flood-related legal cases.
  • Assist in the development of flood risk management policies and guidelines.
  • Conduct peer reviews of flood risk assessments and models.
  • Participate in conferences and seminars to share knowledge and best practices.
  • Support the development of flood risk management tools and software.
  • Conduct sensitivity analyses to evaluate the impact of different scenarios on flood risks.
  • Assist in the development of flood risk management training programs.

Nice to Have

  • Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Hydrology, or a related field.
  • Certification in flood risk management or a related field.
  • Experience in conducting flood risk assessments for large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Proficiency in multiple flood modeling software platforms.
  • Experience in working with international clients and projects.
  • Knowledge of advanced statistical and mathematical modeling techniques.
  • Experience in conducting flood risk assessments for coastal areas.
  • Proficiency in using remote sensing and satellite imagery for flood risk assessment.
  • Experience in developing flood risk management strategies for climate change adaptation.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and standards related to flood risk management.
