OG&E is hiring a Fleet Technician Senior to maintain and repair our diverse fleet, ensuring optimal efficiency and safety. You will work under minimal supervision on a wide range of assets including cars, trucks, cranes, tractors, and all hydraulically operated equipment.
What You'll Do
- Diagnose, repair, and rebuild mechanical, electric, hydraulic, and air brake systems to factory specifications.
- Diagnose and repair all fuel, starting, electrical generating, steering, suspension, and driveline systems.
- Change hydraulic components on aerial platforms, diggers, derricks, cranes, and power-operated equipment.
- Diagnose and repair conventional and electronic ignition systems, emission systems, and R-12/134A air conditioning.
- Diagnose and repair electrical components including gauges, lighting, and remote control devices.
- Attend technical schools to stay current on new technologies and industry standards.
- Lead, coordinate, and prioritize work activity for the team.
- Perform inspections, diagnostics, and repairs with limited resources.
- Conduct preventative maintenance including inspections, fluid changes, transmission service, and coolant flushes.
- Use good judgment to make safety and productivity decisions and work from a service truck.
- Communicate effectively in speech and writing and interact professionally with team members and customers.
- Understand and comply with all company policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Work with minimal supervision, following approved methods and using diagnostic equipment, scanners, DVOMs, and testers.
- Read and interpret electrical vehicle and equipment hydraulic schematics.
- Diagnose and repair all equipment with gas or diesel engines on Class 1 through Class 8 vehicles and construction equipment.
- Diagnose and repair Allison and World Class Transmission problems.
- Perform hydraulic repairs on hoses, valves, cylinders, and components.
- Weld with stick and MIG welding systems.
- Retrieve, utilize, and interpret information from diagnostic scanners and PC software.
- Diagnose and repair all brake systems including ABS on all vehicle classes.
- Apply good judgment when performing diagnostics on fuel, cooling, electrical, and exhaust systems.
What We're Looking For
- High School Diploma/GED.
- For Fleet Technician Senior: Certificate of completion in an Automotive/Diesel Technology program and 5 years mechanic experience at a full-service facility including diesel/hydraulic repairs; OR Associate's Degree in Automotive/Diesel Technology and 5 years experience; OR High School Diploma/GED and 10 years of relevant mechanic experience.
- For Fleet Technician Journeyman: Certificate of completion in Automotive Technology and 5 years experience including diesel/hydraulic repairs; OR Associate's Degree in Automotive Technology and 5 years experience; OR High School Diploma/GED, 2 years tire/lube experience, and 5 years mechanic experience; OR High School Diploma/GED and 5 years of specific military training and experience.
- ASE Certification in Medium and Heavy Duty Brake diagnostics/repair required or must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
- DOT Certified Inspector certification required and must be obtained within 90 days.
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License with DOT certification required or must obtain within 180 days of hire.
- Must possess a full set of standard and specialty mechanic tools, including a full set of standard and metric sockets, drives (1/4 in., 3/8 in., 1/2 in.), torque wrenches, diagnostic volt/amp meter, spanner wrenches, adjustable wrenches, hammers, and diagnostic gauges.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle safely in all traffic, weather, and light conditions.
- Computer skills with knowledge of MS Office Suite applications.
- Knowledge of safety requirements and personal protective equipment.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and familiarity working with mechanical equipment.

Works under general supervision. Resolves routine questions and problems using basic principles of the field. Refers more complex issues to higher levels.
