As a Fixed Wing Pilot, you will operate PC12 aircraft under Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) to support air medical transport services in Grand Junction, CO. Safety is central to every mission, and you will be responsible for conducting flights in compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations and internal policies, ensuring the well-being of patients, crew, and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct pre-flight inspections and document aircraft airworthiness through completion of the Daily Flight Log
- Perform thorough exterior walk-arounds before and after each flight
- Exercise final authority over aircraft operations, including go/no-go decisions
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of aircraft and medical systems, including backup aircraft used in the region
- Ensure medical crew members are familiar with the aircraft’s interior and systems
- Complete all required flight documentation accurately and on time
- Plan flights with precision, often on short notice and under demanding conditions
- Participate in company meetings, training, and community engagement initiatives
- Carry out additional duties as needed to support operational excellence
Qualifications
Applicants must meet CareFlight of the Rockies minimum standards and hold dual type ratings in the BE200 and PC12. You must have:
- At least 2,500 total flight hours, with 2,000 in category
- 1,000 hours as Pilot in Command (PIC), including 1,000 PIC hours in category
- 500 hours of cross-country flight time, with 50+ at night
- Minimum 100 hours of night flight and 100 hours of actual instrument flight in category
- 500 hours of turbine-powered aircraft time
- Instrument rating appropriate to aircraft class and category (ATP satisfies this requirement)
- Multiengine rating for twin-engine aircraft; commercial single-engine land rating for single-engine operations
- Valid First or Second Class FAA Medical Certificate
- Weight not exceeding 250 pounds
- Age under 70
- Recent flight experience within the past 24 months in category
- Consistent availability for a 7/7 schedule with 12-hour shifts

Compensation & Benefits
This role offers a salary range of $82,900 to $93,251 per year, complemented by a $50,000 stipend, $3,000 IFR stipend, and an experience stipend of up to $12,000. A $15,000 sign-on bonus is also available.
