SouthState Bank is hiring an FIU Fraud Detection Analyst to join our Financial Intelligence Unit. In this remote role with hours of 11:30 AM to 8:30 PM EST, you will assist with key FIU functions, including analysis, investigations, and regulatory filings, reporting directly to the Chief BSA Officer.
What You'll Do
- Analyze accounts for fraudulent or suspicious activity using alerts from the bank’s automated surveillance system.
- Conduct internal investigations to identify suspicious transactions, mitigate risk, and determine if regulatory reporting is needed.
- Interview witnesses and suspects, documenting all findings.
- Perform forensic research using bank systems and technology, including reviewing surveillance footage.
- Process internal alerts by deciding to clear or escalate based on your analysis.
- Work with internal management to communicate findings and identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Partner with the Bank’s InfoSec department to discover how frauds occur.
- Collaborate with federal, state, and local law enforcement as necessary.
- Document all case findings in a centralized case management system.
- Communicate CDD/EDD deficiencies detected during account monitoring to Bank personnel and management.
- Maintain proficiency in BSA/AML compliance and fraud trends; attend assigned FIU training.
- Adhere to all SouthState Bank policies, including confidentiality, code of ethics, and BSA/AML/OFAC procedures.
What We're Looking For
- CAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist) and/or CAFP (Certified AML and Fraud Professional) certification is required, or willingness to obtain within two years.
- Minimum of 5 years advanced experience in a Fraud and/or BSA/AML role within a financial institution.
- Significant experience completing suspicious activity reports.
- Ability to interface effectively with all business lines, legal entities, and people of varying levels and knowledge.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Must be detail-oriented and proficient with PC work, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other software as needed.

Benefits & Compensation
- Compensation for this position in Colorado is anticipated to be between $48,647.00 - $77,710.00.
