The Boeing Company is hiring a First Line Manager - Quality NDI/NDT to lead a technical team within Boeing Global Services (BGS). This role is based in San Antonio, TX and is responsible for managing a Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) team, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and driving organizational strategy. You will manage roughly 15 direct reports and serve as a key leader within the quality function.
What You'll Do
- Develop relationships with operations and quality teams to resolve issues impacting airplane build, test, and delivery.
- Promote and maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
- Interface with Operations, Quality, Engineering, regulatory agencies, and suppliers to resolve complex challenges.
- Staff, direct, and develop a technical team, establishing group goals and monitoring performance.
- Manage, develop, and motivate a group of roughly 15 direct reports.
- Perform data analytics to analyze results, metrics, and trends to influence team strategy and quality performance.
- Develop and execute project plans, implement policies, and set operational goals.
- Acquire and manage resources, lead process improvements, and act as the initial point of escalation for team issues.
- Lead change management and collaborate with cross-functional partners.
- Build an organizational culture that values open communication and first-time quality.
- Create a culture of continuous improvement to enhance cost, quality, delivery, and employee satisfaction.
- Proactively communicate with leadership, peers, and customers on program status and strategies.
- Be accountable for Quality program management, including resourcing, performance oversight, and corrective action.
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of manufacturing and/or quality experience.
- 2+ years of experience developing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders (customers, suppliers, peers, partners).
- 2+ years of experience in NDI (non-destructive inspection) or NDT (non-destructive test), or managing an NDI/NDT team.
- Leadership experience with technical employees.
Nice to Have
- 3+ years of experience in program or project management.
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification.
Team & Environment
You will be a First Line Manager of a technical NDT/NDI team with roughly 15 direct reports. The role involves close collaboration across organizational and functional boundaries to drive improvements and mitigate risk.
Benefits & Compensation
- Compensation range: $118,100 - $164,100.
- Competitive base pay and variable compensation opportunities.
