Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) is looking for a Fire & Security Officer to ensure comprehensive fire safety and security at our client site in Chandigarh. You will be responsible for emergency response, staff supervision, and maintaining the highest standards of safety protocols.
What You'll Do
- Oversee and ensure fire safety at your site, using assigned apparatus and following command structure instructions for fire suppression.
- Perform equipment set-up upon arrival at a fire scene and complete appropriate rescue, firefighting, and salvage operations.
- Dispatch and accompany the Emergency Response Team (ERT).
- Prepare plans and execute evacuation drills and other fire safety trainings for team members and occupants.
- Determine if individuals are trapped within a burning facility and take appropriate actions to secure their rescue.
- Perform lift evacuation and rescue drills periodically.
- Secure affected structures to prevent rekindling and take inventory of all equipment after suppression.
- Record equipment left at the site and complete incident reports.
- Attend and provide information for pre-fire planning studies and maintain updated knowledge of pre-fire plans.
- Liaise with Government authorities for the periodic renewal of NOCs.
- Report and maintain records of all site incidents.
- Keep all checklists and records updated related to Fire equipment maintenance and training.
- Maintain and update Security Policies and Procedures at site, especially updating/establishing specific security procedures and crime deterrent programs.
- Supervise Security and Fire safety staff, assign and monitor work assignments, and provide training on security procedures and basic fire and first aid.
- Ensure complete documentation and Police verification of vendor security personnel and periodically audit all contractors for ongoing compliance.
- Conduct Security investigations and prepare Incident reports.
- Track material movement and stock of Lost and Found items.
- Handle emergency situations efficiently (i.e., fire, evacuations, customer complaints, human crises).
- Ensure an effective emergency preparedness/disaster management plan is in place, along with an ERT.
- Conduct Security Risk Assessments and plan effective Guarding Strategies.
- Conduct Mock Drills on medical emergencies, Bomb Threats/Search Handling, Riots, etc.
- Be proficient with security and safety devices.
- Carry out weekly meetings with the vendor operations head and share Minutes of Meeting (M.O.M.) with the Property Manager and client.
- Maintain clear communication with the client SPOC regarding events, incidents, concerns, recommendations, and staffing needs.
- Conduct review of security after-hours reports and monitor performance.
- Develop liaison with government agencies (e.g., local Police, Fire Services).
- Prepare monthly security MIS.
