Join AECOM's Building & Places (B+P) organization as a Senior Fire Protection Engineer. In this senior role, you will provide engineering expertise for buildings and facilities while taking on leadership, mentoring, and client relationship growth opportunities.

What You'll Do

Serve as the lead fire protection engineer for designs on a variety of mid-to-large size architecture and facility projects.
Organize workload, work independently on design tasks, and lead staff and client communications.
Communicate and present technical solutions to clients and attend project meetings.
Coordinate with the Architect of Record, Project Manager, and other departments.
Perform quality control reviews of work developed by others and provide technical input.
Coordinate project scope, schedule, and budget with project managers.
Use technical software for design, calculation, modeling, and documentation.
Apply in-depth knowledge of life safety codes and relevant governing standards.
Mentor and provide guidance to junior level staff.
Participate in the development of technical proposals and estimates.
Review permitting agency standards and regulations to develop project designs and applications.
Participate in site investigations and construction-related activities.

What We're Looking For

Bachelor's degree in Engineering plus 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency.
Registration as a Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Florida (current FL PE License).
Experience leading engagement and interface with client teams.
Experience using relevant software for design, calculation, and project execution.
Experience preparing calculations and design documents (reports, plans, specifications).
Experience organizing and delivering projects and milestones in a timely and accurate manner.
In-depth experience with construction phase services (field reviews, RFI and shop drawing reviews, etc.).
Demonstrated experience with permitting projects and interaction with authorities having jurisdiction.
Valid US Driver’s License and ability to pass AECOM's motor vehicle records review.
Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required.

Nice to Have

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in fire protection engineering.
Experience as the lead fire protection engineer for building and facility projects.
10+ years of fire protection engineering experience covering all aspects of life safety and fire protection for building design.
Understanding of other building system engineering, such as HVAC and plumbing design.
Experience working on large and complex projects/programs.
Experience on municipal, federal, and DOD projects and programs.
