Fingerpaint Market Access (FPMA) is looking for a Senior Medical Editor to join our creative production team. In this role, you'll ensure the high-quality, accurate, and compliant medical communications for 3-5 brands within our dynamic agency environment. You'll be a key guardian of editorial standards while collaborating closely with other departments.
What You'll Do
- Edit and proofread print and digital materials for grammar, punctuation, spelling, and adherence to AMA, client, and house style guidelines.
- Ensure materials meet relevant standards and stay current on FDA guidelines.
- Collaborate with other departments to maintain high content quality, clarity, accuracy, and consistency, ensuring adherence to timelines.
- Maintain style sheets and master reference lists for assigned brands.
- Fact-check referenced information before jobs are sent to client or regulatory for approval.
- Participate in kickoff, status, and other job-related meetings.
- Support senior management in departmental and company initiatives, contributing to the creation or revision of departmental resources and processes.
- Train and mentor interns and associate editors if pursuing a management path.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in English, communications, journalism, or health sciences field.
- 3-5 years of professional medical editing experience, including fact-checking.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong medical editing skills, including copyediting, substantive editing, and fact-checking.
- Knowledge of AMA Manual of Style, 11th edition.
- Familiarity with FDA guidelines.
- Strong skills in time management, prioritizing, organizing, and problem-solving, with attention to detail and ability to adhere to deadlines.
- General understanding of both print and digital projects, and how their unique needs affect editorial reviews.
- General proficiency in digital/remote work communication tools.
- Proficiency with standard software: Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook; Adobe Acrobat.
Nice to Have
- Pharmaceutical advertising agency experience.
- Experience using Ziflow or similar online review platform.
