About the Role

The position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial data, preparing reports, and assisting with audits and budget planning activities.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and reconcile financial records and accounts
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
  • Support the development and monitoring of departmental budgets
  • Ensure compliance with institutional and regulatory financial policies
  • Assist in internal and external audit processes
  • Process journal entries and adjustments in the financial system
  • Collaborate with staff across departments to resolve financial inquiries
  • Track and report on grant expenditures
  • Monitor account balances and spending limits
  • Identify discrepancies in financial data and recommend corrections
  • Assist in year-end closing procedures
  • Manage documentation for financial transactions
  • Provide backup support for payroll and accounts payable functions
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives for financial operations
  • Ensure proper coding of financial transactions
  • Respond to financial data requests from administrators
  • Support fiscal year planning and forecasting efforts
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information
  • Stay current with changes in financial regulations and policies
  • Use financial software systems to enter and retrieve data
  • Assist in training new staff on financial procedures
  • Prepare documentation for audits and reviews
  • Coordinate with external agencies as needed for financial reporting
  • Track funding sources and restrictions
