Suncorp Bank, part of the ANZ Group, is hiring a Financial Control Associate to join its Controls Centre of Excellence. In this role, you will support complex accounting and reporting activities, providing accurate financial information to the Business Unit Divisional Financial Control team and helping ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory obligations.

What You'll Do

• Support Group Technology’s accounting and reporting activities, ensuring outputs are accurate, timely, and compliant.
• Maintain financial integrity and controls for all Technology-related processes.
• Manage end-to-end centralized, country-agnostic processes such as journals and reconciliations.
• Develop deep process expertise while remaining flexible across various functions within the Controls Centre of Excellence.
• Ensure 'quality at source' through strong process-level controls.
• Support centralized data sourcing, accounting, and reporting services for in-country finance teams.
• Contribute to standardized processes and control frameworks within the Data & Reporting team.
• Deliver timely month-end outputs including registers, schedules, reconciliations, and trial balances, ensuring readiness for financial reporting and audits.
• Support the Business Unit change agenda, including simplification, automation, and elimination of manual activities in partnership with the FSDI team.

What We're Looking For

• A degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or equivalent.
• A professional qualification such as CA or CPA.
• Professional experience in the Banking and Financial Services industry.
• Strong analytical and technical skills with high attention to detail.
• Experience in driving continuous improvement, process optimisation, and control enhancement.
• A mindset focused on simplification, standardisation, and innovation.
• Flexibility to build deep process expertise while supporting cross-functional work.

Nice to Have

• Exposure to or experience with process automation tools such as Alteryx, Power Automate, VBA, SQL, or Python.
