Nearmap is hiring a Financial Analyst

About the Role

Nearmap is looking for a Financial Analyst to contribute to budget and forecast setup and analyze the operational performance of key cost drivers. Reporting to the Commercial Finance Manager – Technology, you will play a central role in providing financial insights to senior leadership.

What You'll Do

  • Support the Commercial Finance Manager in engaging with senior leadership teams to prepare and execute budgets and forecasts.
  • Own the analysis of key cost drivers, including Capture costs, Cloud computing costs, Licence/subscription costs, and Headcount costs.
  • Provide timely analysis and updates to stakeholders throughout the budget and forecast process.
  • Review and validate month-end accruals with the Financial Control team.
  • Ensure data consistency across all systems used for internal analysis.
  • Prepare timely P&L commentary and internal analysis for the group FP&A team during month-end and budget/forecast cycles.
  • Develop and maintain detailed financial models in Excel or Looker using large data sets.
  • Provide ad-hoc modelling assistance for project business cases, insights, and recommendations.
  • Develop reports in Adaptive, Looker, and Excel to streamline stakeholder reporting.
  • Pursue opportunities to improve month-end processing through better system utilisation.
  • Drive improvements in reporting, including the accessibility of reports and information.

What We're Looking For

  • 2-5 years of previous experience in the finance & accounting industry.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with experience managing multiple stakeholders at all levels.
  • Tertiary qualifications in accounting, business, or commerce.
  • Strong data analysis, modelling and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make complex concepts simple.
  • Ability to adapt to shifting business requirements and priorities.
  • Advanced Excel skills for manipulating large data sets.
  • Ability to learn new systems such as Looker, Adaptive, and Netsuite quickly.

Nice to Have

  • Professional qualification CA or CPA.
