About the Role

Foodstuffs South Island is looking for a Financial Accountant to ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial reporting across our co-operative. You’ll play an important role in preparing monthly and annual financial statements while helping maintain strong financial controls and accurate records.

What You'll Do

  • Assist in preparing monthly financial reports, including analysing and explaining variances.
  • Support the preparation of the annual financial report, including consolidation of FSSI entities and preparation of notes to the accounts.
  • Prepare and file the Group’s monthly GST returns.
  • Maintain accurate accrual accounting across consolidated accounts to minimise timing differences and budget variances.
  • Prepare and reconcile general ledger accounts, resolving reconciling items in a timely manner.

What We're Looking For

  • CA, CPA or other accredited accounting body certification.
  • A tertiary qualification in Accounting or equivalent.
  • Experience managing GST and tax reporting within a large or complex organisation.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand and investigate financial issues.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly explain financial information.
  • Confidence working with the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.

Nice to Have

  • Experience using SAP and OneStream.

You’ll be part of a wider finance team, working closely with the Financial Reporting and Consolidation Lead and reporting directly to them.

Work Mode

This role is based onsite at our Papanui office.
