Foodstuffs South Island is looking for a Financial Accountant to ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial reporting across our co-operative. You’ll play an important role in preparing monthly and annual financial statements while helping maintain strong financial controls and accurate records.
What You'll Do
- Assist in preparing monthly financial reports, including analysing and explaining variances.
- Support the preparation of the annual financial report, including consolidation of FSSI entities and preparation of notes to the accounts.
- Prepare and file the Group’s monthly GST returns.
- Maintain accurate accrual accounting across consolidated accounts to minimise timing differences and budget variances.
- Prepare and reconcile general ledger accounts, resolving reconciling items in a timely manner.
What We're Looking For
- CA, CPA or other accredited accounting body certification.
- A tertiary qualification in Accounting or equivalent.
- Experience managing GST and tax reporting within a large or complex organisation.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand and investigate financial issues.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly explain financial information.
- Confidence working with the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.

- Experience using SAP and OneStream.
