EY is seeking a Senior Tax Professional to join our Financial Services Office (FSO) Private Tax practice. You will provide tax compliance and advisory services to privately held companies and their owners, working with multi-disciplinary teams across domestic, international, and state/local taxation to implement strategies aligned with client business objectives.
What You'll Do
- Be responsible for tax compliance and advisory work for clients.
- Work with Managers through Partners on key client issues in domestic federal, international and state and local taxation.
- Focus on implementing tax strategies that align with the client's business objectives.
- Build impactful relationships with new and existing clients and maintain relationships with firm leadership.
- Create a positive and trusting environment where team members know each other and feel a part of their team.
- Analyze trading reports for tax character and book tax differences arising from investment partnership interests and/or securities trading activity.
- Identify key tax technical issues and raise the appropriate questions before the work is sent for review.
- Manage multiple work assignments and deadlines.
What We're Looking For
- A bachelor’s degree in an accounting, finance or a business discipline, and/or an advanced degree in tax or law.
- A minimum of eighteen (18) months of recent relevant tax experience.
- Broad exposure to federal income taxation and some exposure to state and local tax.
- Experience with flow through entities (S-Corps, Partnerships, LLC's).
- Good collaboration and negotiation skills, and the confidence to challenge senior colleagues and stakeholders from a diverse range of backgrounds.
- An understanding of automated tax processing systems.
- A commitment to continuing your learning.
Nice to Have
- A CPA (or equivalent internationally recognized accounting designation), Enrolled Agent and/or LLM certification.
- Experience serving clients in the financial services industry.
- Excellent teaming, leadership, organizational, and verbal/written communication skills.
- Demonstrated skills in the asset management tax area.
