Optimal Group was looking for a Finance Executive - Remote South Africa

Optimal Group seeks a Finance Executive to play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial health and stability of our results-focused business. You will be responsible for accurate reporting, effective cost control, and strong financial governance, directly supporting strategic decision-making with clear insights.

What You'll Do

  • Ensure quality and financial control of invoices created by the invoice clerk and produce invoices based on Engineers' reports.
  • Chase overdue invoices with clients and send monthly invoice statements to key clients.
  • Maintain records of PCNs, pay PCNs, track mileage usage, and coordinate services, insurances, and purchasing for the fleet.
  • Check Pleo (company card) transactions, cross-reference with job management software, and follow up on procedural deviations.
  • Provide comprehensive support to the Board of Directors, including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and compiling board packs.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain governance policies and procedures aligned with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate and facilitate board and committee meetings, ensuring accurate minutes and tracking of action items.
  • Serve as a liaison between the Board of Directors, senior management, and various stakeholders.
  • Support the Finance Manager in administering the shared Finance inbox, responding to clients promptly.
  • Manage the quality and financial control of invoice uploading for payments.
  • Stay current with governance best practices, emerging trends, and regulatory changes.

  • Experience using the whole of Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, and To-do tasks).
  • An analytical mindset with the ability to assess complex issues and propose effective solutions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships and facilitating discussions at all levels.
  • An ethical and principled approach to governance.
  • Great attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritise and work under pressure.

  • Adaptable to the needs of the business and new technologies.

  • Experience working within a property maintenance company.

Team & Environment

You will work closely with senior leadership, suppliers, and clients while supporting the Finance Manager.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Monthly compensation ranging from R20,000 to R28,000.

This is a remote position open to candidates located in South Africa.
