Abbott, a global healthcare leader, seeks a Field Service Engineer to provide on-site technical support for its Core Lab Division customers. In this role, you will be responsible for installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and ensuring customer satisfaction, all while adhering to strict compliance and quality system guidelines.
What You'll Do
- Represent Abbott Core Lab Division to its customers by providing on-site support.
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot a minimum of five increasingly complex instruments.
- Schedule and complete routine preventive maintenance, installations, and updates.
- Document complaint resolution accurately and follow regulatory and compliance procedures.
- Provide superior customer service by applying effective communication skills to build loyalty.
- Manage standby and after-hours responsibilities, including participation in an on-call rotation.
- Travel 20% to 30% to support other territories and for training.
- Manage your time, territory, and inventory effectively.
- Work cross-functionally with performance partnership teams to achieve customer satisfaction.
- Proactively improve expertise through continuous learning and certifications.
- Champion the use of remote support tools to improve instrument uptime.
- Achieve established business metrics including service sales and key performance indicators.
- Maintain a safe work environment following laboratory safety guidelines.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.
- Must currently live in the Florence, SC area; relocation assistance is not authorized.
- Willingness to travel 20% to 30%.
Nice to Have
- A Bachelors/Engineering Degree in Bio Medical, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or Medical Technology.
- Practical experience interfacing with customers.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to succeed in team situations and excel independently.
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office, VPN, and remote troubleshooting.
- Effective communication and strong interpersonal skills.
