Field Service Engineer – Ohio Region

Role Overview

This position supports the deployment and maintenance of low voltage distribution systems, transformers, and associated power equipment throughout the Ohio area. Reporting to the Director of Field Applications, the engineer ensures systems are installed, tested, commissioned, and maintained to the highest standards of safety and performance. The role emphasizes technical precision, adherence to protocols, and direct client engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and perform on-site installation, testing, commissioning, and repair of electrical distribution components.
  • Generate accurate technical documentation, including test records and service reports.
  • Monitor inventory of tools, spare parts, and consumables to support efficient field operations.
  • Comply with all applicable safety standards and site-specific regulations during every phase of work.
  • Participate in project meetings and coordinate with site teams and project managers.
  • Act as a primary technical contact for clients, addressing concerns and escalating issues when necessary.
  • Maintain regular communication with internal stakeholders to ensure project alignment.
  • Identify inefficiencies and support process improvements to enhance service quality and reduce waste.
  • Follow company policies and promote a culture of safety and accountability.
  • Perform additional field and administrative duties as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree in electrical power distribution or equivalent field experience (5+ years).
  • Proficiency in interpreting electrical schematics and diagrams.
  • Experience operating multimeters, current meters, and other diagnostic tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior military service.
  • Background in data centers or mission-critical power environments.
  • 3–5 years of experience with low voltage switchgear and power distribution systems.
  • Familiarity with UL standards including UL67, UL1008, UL10008S, UL60950, UL891, and UL1558.

Technical Environment

Work involves electrical schematics, test instrumentation, and compliance with UL and other safety standards. Field engineers use precision tools to validate system performance and ensure long-term reliability.

Compensation & Benefits

Annual salary range: $67,700 – $93,100. The position includes a matching 401(k) plan, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, life and disability insurance, paid time off, and tuition reimbursement. Remote flexibility is available within the Ohio region.

Work Environment

This role operates primarily in the field across client sites in Ohio, with remote work options supporting coordination and reporting. Engineers must be prepared for travel and on-site work in industrial and commercial environments.
