Pacific Specialty Insurance Company was looking for a Field Appraiser

Pacific Specialty Insurance Company is hiring a Field Appraiser to investigate and assess severe residential property damage claims. In this role, you will meet policyholders in person, facilitate repair decisions, and negotiate with vendors, applying your expertise to resolve complex losses while providing superior service.

What You'll Do

  • Provide superior customer service to policyholders while working autonomously in the field and from a home-office.
  • Communicate daily with customers to schedule inspections and walk them through the repair process.
  • Recognize and appropriately address high severity/complexity coverage issues.
  • Assess damages, complete Xactimate estimates, and reach agreements on scope and cost of repairs with customers.
  • Accurately document activity and secure claim information within the claims system.
  • Complete file summaries and action plans on newly assigned tasks with appropriate updates.
  • Ensure compliance with state insurance regulations and company claims handling guidelines.

What We're Looking For

  • College degree or prior applicable work experience
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Solid analytical skills
  • Xactimate/Xactanalysis proficiency
  • Ability to make timely and accurate decisions
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal management oversight
  • Proficiency in writing Xactimate Residential Repair estimates in excess of $150k
  • Large loss adjusting/appraising experience (minimum of 3 years)
  • Insurance/Construction experience (5-6 years)
  • Valid California driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • Travel flexibility: 25-50% travel across California, some overnight stays required

Nice to Have

  • Bilingual in Spanish
  • Current Texas, Florida, or Connecticut adjuster license

Partner and work as a team with the Claim Owner to resolve claims.
