The F&B Server will work onboard ASTORIA GRANDE cruise ships, delivering high-quality food and beverage service to guests while ensuring compliance with company standards. This role involves direct guest interaction, maintaining service excellence across dining venues, bars, and room service, and supporting team operations in a dynamic maritime environment.
Responsibilities
- Conducts himself/herself in a professional and courteous manner at all times, including physical and verbal interactions with guests or fellow shipboard employees.
- Assists the team to provide proper Buffet service and set up.
- Ensures proper Room Service deliveries by checking that each tray is clean, food is well presented, and that orders are fulfilled and delivered in timely manner.
- Enforce best practices for proper inventory and stock control by checking that all venues are provided with the necessary equipment and material.
- Ensures that the amount of silverware, chinaware, glassware, linen and equipment necessary to run the operation is always kept up to par level by complying with the company’s ordering schedules procedures.
- Ensures that all bar checks are being duly signed by guests, and that copies are being collected and presented to the F&B supervisor of the area in order to cross check sales and financial administration purposes.
- Responsible to run sales reports every time at the end of each working shift and on each end of voyage prior guest’s disembarkation.
- Establishes and maintains effective internal communications including attending regular departmental meetings to ensure optimum scheduling, teamwork and productivity.
- Ensures the highest level of guest satisfaction by overseeing the delivery of quality guest services and amenities within company’s standards.
- Assists the supervisors where assign to plan, organize, support, control, and evaluate the operation of the Food & Beverage Department with special focus on Bar and Wine Service in all lounges, dining rooms, bars and open decks, table cleaning and setup, and all needed as instructed by supervisor of the area.
Requirements
- Age 18+
- Recruitment is conducted from the following countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Russia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan.
- Fluency in Russian is mandatory
- Knowledge of English - from intermediate depending on the position (knowledge of English is pre-intermediate for basic positions, fluency in both Russian and English is required for higher and administrative positions)
- A full package of STCW certificates and a seafarer's passport/seafarer's identity card are required.
- Five or more-year experience in an upscale hotel or cruise ship in the food and beverage area of which, preferable 3 years in service area
- Strong communication, problem solving, decision making, and interpersonal skills.
- Superior customer service, team building and conflict resolution skills.
- Knowledge of the principles and processes for providing personalized services including needs assessment techniques, quality service standards, alternative delivery systems, and guest satisfaction evaluation techniques.
- Knowledge of policies and practices involved in the human resources function. Ability to manage the international crew in a positive and productive manner by motivating, developing and effectively managing subordinates.
- Intermediate computer software skills required.
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a constantly challenging environment.
