Utah Community Action is looking for a Family Advocate to join our team in Wendover, Utah. In this role, you will provide comprehensive case management services to families in assigned classrooms, creating and coordinating services that promote family well-being while ensuring compliance with Head Start Performance Standards.
What You'll Do
- Provide compassionate, strengths-based case management to families from diverse backgrounds.
- Maintain accurate documentation, case notes, and follow-ups using required systems like ChildPlus.
- Monitor and educate families on health requirements, ensuring children are up to date on medical, dental, nutrition, and mental health screenings.
- Offer timely referrals and ensure families successfully access community resources.
- Partner with teachers to share relevant information confidentially and ensure classroom coverage and safety.
- Lead engaging parent meetings, workshops, and family activities that strengthen relationships.
- Conduct application intakes and assist with recruitment efforts, with some evenings and weekends required.
- Participate in ongoing professional development.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor's degree in social, human, or family services.
- Two years of related experience.
- For the Wendover Site Only: In place of a bachelor's degree, a newly hired employee will have up to 18 months from the date of hire to obtain a Family Development Certification.
Nice to Have
- Experience working with Head Start programs.
- Bilingual proficiency in languages spoken by families served by UCA.
