About the Role
This internship provides students with the chance to contribute to environmental protection efforts by supporting legal and policy initiatives with scientific research and technical analysis. Interns will work closely with professionals to assess environmental impacts and strengthen case-related documentation.
Responsibilities
- Conduct scientific research to support environmental litigation and policy initiatives
- Analyze environmental data from government and academic sources
- Summarize technical findings for use in legal and advocacy contexts
- Assist in evaluating environmental impact reports and regulatory filings
- Collaborate with team members on case strategy involving scientific evidence
- Draft memos and reports based on scientific literature reviews
- Support the development of expert witness materials
- Review proposed regulations for scientific accuracy and completeness
- Gather and organize datasets relevant to ongoing legal cases
- Participate in team meetings and case planning discussions
- Identify emerging scientific trends related to environmental health
- Help prepare presentations for internal and external stakeholders
- Contribute to interdisciplinary projects combining law and science
- Maintain accurate records of research sources and methodologies
- Follow ethical guidelines in data handling and reporting
