Adyen is hiring an Export Compliance Manager to lead our compliance efforts and support global operations. In this individual contributor role, you will collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure adherence to U.S. and international trade regulations while enabling smooth, compliant international trade. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the company’s export compliance program.
What You'll Do
- Develop and maintain the company’s Export Compliance Manual and SOPs.
- Establish, implement, and continuously improve export compliance policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Ensure accurate and timely EEI submissions for USPPI and FPPI and verify supporting documentation is retained per regulations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for inquiries from U.S. government agencies related to export control and enforcement.
- Lead penalty mitigation processes, including Petitions for Relief and Voluntary Self-Disclosures (VSDs).
- Oversee root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and compliance enhancements.
- Monitor and interpret changes in export laws and regulations, updating policies accordingly.
- Develop and deliver training on compliance requirements, documentation standards, and red flag indicators.
- Provide guidance on responsibilities under Commerce, Treasury, State, CBP, and other PGAs.
- Collaborate with commercial and customer service teams to confirm client filing authorizations.
- Conduct internal audits and self-assessments to identify compliance risks.
- Review AES filings for accuracy and compliance.
- Generate and analyze ACE AES reports; track error trends and recommend corrective actions.
- Prepare compliance metrics and reports for management review.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in international business, supply chain, or related field, or 10+ years of equivalent experience in export compliance, trade regulations, or international logistics.
- Minimum of 5 years of firsthand experience in export compliance or trade regulations.
- Strong knowledge of EAR, ITAR, OFAC, and AES filing requirements.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work cross-functionally.
- Superior interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively.
- Familiarity with Cargo Wise and ACE reporting.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of Transportation Security Administration (TSA) cargo security requirements.
