Agent is looking for an Estimator to join our team working with Opler Flooring. You will be responsible for producing accurate, detailed estimates for residential and commercial projects. This role acts as a critical link between clients, the in-house estimating team, and the remote pricing department to ensure timely and accurate bid completion.
What You'll Do
- Receive, analyze, and manage Invitations to Bid (ITB), facilitating communication between the in-house estimating team and clients.
- Handle all RFIs generated by the estimating team, discuss them with customers, secure timely answers, and communicate resolutions.
- Manage the workflow of the remote pricing department, ensuring all necessary information is provided for pricing requests.
- Proactively call vendors and suppliers to request pricing when email requests are insufficient.
- Rigorously track all bid deadlines and ensure all necessary parties are on track to meet submission timelines.
- Produce detailed estimates for New Construction & Design-Build projects.
- Analyze drawings, scopes, and specifications to produce accurate material takeoffs and labor estimates.
- Master the use of the company's proprietary bid tracking software to log, track, and manage the status of all active bids.
What We're Looking For
- A proven background in construction with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar estimating role.
- Exceptional communication skills in English, with the ability to speak and communicate clearly and fluently with US-based customers and internal teams.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple simultaneous tasks, prioritize effectively, and coordinate between several internal and external stakeholders.
- A proactive and curious mindset; you must be a self-starter who asks necessary questions.
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Competency with the Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Outlook and Teams.
- Ability to understand basic construction documentation like blueprints, takeoffs, and RFIs.
- Ability to learn and master technical software and flooring terminology.
