Role Overview
This position supports the Director of Operations by delivering precise cost estimates and guiding supplier engagement through the full lifecycle of Request for Proposal (RFP) events. The Estimator leverages deep industry knowledge to assess project feasibility, improve profitability, and inform pricing decisions based on customer specifications and market dynamics.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop RFP packages from client requirements and technical documentation.
- Manage RFP processes from initiation to closure, including supplier outreach, negotiation, pricing evaluation, and final analysis.
- Develop high-level cost projections using limited or preliminary information, applying practical industry insight.
- Compile and organize supplier pricing and terms into estimating systems, ensuring all project costs, risks, and requirements are fully captured.
- Generate clear, data-backed estimate summaries for internal stakeholders to support pricing strategies.
- Prepare client-ready submittals and internal reporting documents with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Keep accurate records in databases and identify patterns or trends that influence future estimating practices.
- Serve as a coordination point across departments to maintain alignment throughout the estimation cycle.
- Lead recurring update meetings to track progress and resolve outstanding items.
- Ensure a seamless handoff from estimation to production following project award.
- Provide constructive feedback to supply partners and contribute to long-term relationship development.
- Support additional initiatives and assignments as needed.
