Real is hiring an Escrow Officer to play a pivotal role in facilitating smooth real estate transactions by overseeing the closing process for our Virginia operations. You will be responsible for managing escrow accounts, ensuring compliance with regulations, and coordinating between all parties involved, leveraging your strong attention to detail and communication skills.
What You'll Do
- Manage escrow transactions from opening to closing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
- Communicate effectively with buyers, sellers, lenders, and real estate agents throughout the closing process.
- Review and analyze title reports, surveys, and legal documents to identify any issues that may affect the transaction.
- Coordinate with various parties, including title examiners, attorneys, and insurance companies, to resolve title issues.
- Prepare closing documents and ensure all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and on time.
- Conduct closings in accordance with state regulations and company policies, addressing any questions or concerns.
- Oversee the disbursement of funds and the recording of documents after closing.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for each transaction, adhering to confidentiality standards.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to escrow and title services.
What We're Looking For
- Must be based in Virginia with a valid and active Virginia Escrow Officer license.
- Minimum of 3+ years of direct experience in escrow, title services, or real estate transactions.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Knowledge of real estate laws, regulations, and procedures specific to the Virginia market.

- Candidates must be willing and able to travel to broker events and engage with regional or state partners to support business development.
Nice to Have
- High School Diploma or Equivalent; additional education or certification in real estate is a plus.
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools, including Microsoft Office and escrow management systems; Doubletime or Qualia experience a plus.
- Notary certification preferred.
