Bank of America is hiring an Equity Research Analyst for its Internet team. In this role, you will cover a portfolio of over 45 stocks, vet private companies for IPOs, and produce in-depth research through financial modeling, report writing, and data analysis.
What You'll Do
- Perform comprehensive financial modeling and valuation work
- Write industry and company reports, including initiating coverage from scratch
- Analyze data using market research databases
- Respond to research inquiries from institutional investor clients
- Interview industry experts to gather insights on covered companies and sectors
- Build relationships and facilitate information flow with contacts at covered companies
- Participate in and contribute to industry conferences and events
- Monitor stock market, industry, and company-specific activity
- Seek out new and unusual sources of information to enhance research capabilities
- Work with Senior Analysts to develop key industry themes
- Demonstrate strong industry knowledge and business judgment
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of experience
- Extensive experience modeling income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements in Excel
- Ability to write clearly and concisely about technology, business, and complex topics
- Ability to comprehend and create charts, diagrams, tables, and other data visualizations
- 1-5 years of experience in a formal research capacity, Investment Banking, Consulting, VC, or a Corporate Management function
- Must have extensive experience with Excel, Word, & PowerPoint
- Must respond well to time-sensitive tasks, such as writing earnings reports and responding to clients
- Must enjoy following the stock market, high technology companies, and conducting desktop and field research
- Along with Finance and Accounting, a basic understanding of economics, macroeconomic factors, and international affairs
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task
- Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment
Nice to Have
- Progress towards a CFA or other relevant professional certifications
- VBA and data science skills
