About the Role

Fresenius Medical Care North America is looking for an Environmental Health Services Technician (Mantenimiento) to ensure the overall cleanliness, hygiene, and safe operation of our facility. You will be responsible for maintaining a clean, hygienic, and pleasant environment for patients, visitors, and staff, adhering to strict health and safety protocols.

What You'll Do

  • Provide a clean, hygienic, and pleasant working environment for the entire facility.
  • Ensure all areas are properly cleaned and disinfected, with special attention to patient and visitor locations.
  • Clean all facility equipment, including televisions, computers, HVAC units, vents, and furniture.
  • Dispose of all waste containers, trash receptacles, and recyclables properly per facility policies.
  • Clean all bathrooms, kitchen areas, waiting areas, break rooms, conference rooms, offices, treatment areas, storage/water treatment rooms, and certain exterior premises.
  • Clean sinks, countertops, toilets, floors, mirrors, doors, and walls.
  • Sweep, wash, wax, vacuum, and clean all floors as necessary.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures related to Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and Hazard Material Identification System (HMIS).
  • Maintain the cleaning supply area, keeping it organized and properly labeled. Obtain supplies and report needs to your supervisor.
  • Furnish pertinent areas with hygienic materials like soap, sanitizer, paper towels, and cups.
  • Report maintenance issues like leaking faucets or clogged drains to the appropriate party.
  • May clean dialysis prep areas and dialysis stations post-treatment using proper solutions and techniques.
  • May perform inventory and supply functions, including receiving, handling, stocking, and counting materials.
  • May perform minor physical plant repairs and maintenance such as painting, changing bulbs or ceiling tiles, and tending to clogged drains.
  • May assist technical or nursing staff with basic functions like moving equipment and lifting heavy objects.
  • Initiate the RO machine and perform initial water quality testing, documenting results.
  • Initiate the (SDS) system following written policies and document all activities.
  • Perform total chlorine testing, calibrate meters for water quality, and prepare solutions like bicarbonate and Granuflo, documenting all steps.
  • Perform shut down of the SDS system, following daily rinse and weekly disinfect procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to follow detailed procedures and safety protocols, especially concerning chemical handling.
  • Reliability and a proactive approach to maintaining the facility.

Nice to Have

  • High School Diploma
  • 0 - 1 year of prior experience in cleaning or housekeeping

Work Mode

This is an on-site position.
