WSP USA Inc. is looking for an Assistant Vice President, Environmental Geologist to join our Site Investigation & Remediation (SIR) team in Irvine, California. You will help grow our environmental consulting business across California and the Western US, managing and designing complex, multi-media remediation programs for clients in industrial, government, energy, and transportation sectors.
What You'll Do
- Perform business development for environmental remediation and engineering services across multiple sectors.
- Design, oversee, and direct the work of staff- and project-level geologists and environmental scientists.
- Assist in preparing technical reports and proposals.
- Manage multiple projects, ensuring deliverables, schedules, and budgets are met.
- Provide strategic advice to clients and collaborate with multi-disciplinary project teams.
- Travel as needed for project execution and business development.
- Meet sales, revenue, and project delivery goals.
- Mentor staff to support their professional growth.
- Exercise responsible decision-making regarding company funds and resources, adhering to WSP’s Code of Conduct.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
What We're Looking For
- BS in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related field.
- 12+ years of experience in environmental investigation, remediation, and sales.
- Previous experience working with California regulatory agencies like the Regional Water Quality Control Board, DTSC, or local CUPAs.
- Consulting experience with investigation and remediation of contaminated soil and groundwater, including sites impacted by petroleum hydrocarbons, chlorinated solvents, PCBs, metals, and/or PFAS.
- Consulting experience with soil gas and vapor intrusion issues.
- Experience overseeing remedy construction and operation and maintenance of environmental projects.
- Project management experience with mid-level projects, including tracking hours and expenses.
- Ability to work with, mentor, and direct geologists, scientists, and technicians.
- Strong self-leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with office automation and communication software.
- Well-developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety, and conduct policies.
- Must be flexible, able to prioritize, and adapt quickly in a pressure work environment.
- Must pass drug test, physical, background check, and WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening.
Nice to Have
- Master’s Degree in Geology.
- California Professional Geologist’s License.
- PMP Certification.
- 40-Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER).
- Basic First Aid and Adult CPR certification.
