Rolls-Royce Power Systems is hiring an Enterprise Business Architect to shape our strategic direction through business architecture. In this role, you will develop key tools, analyze value streams, and drive digital transformation initiatives in a leading industrial environment.
What You'll Do
- Develop and maintain the Business Capability Map as a strategic tool to visualize company capabilities and identify optimization potential.
- Capture, document, and analyze End-to-End Value Streams to create transparency of value chains and identify bottlenecks.
- Conduct Application Portfolio Management, mapping applications to Business Capabilities using TIME-Rating (Tolerate, Invest, Migrate, Eliminate).
- Create and maintain Business-Process-to-Capability-Mapping to create transparency over the process landscape.
- Accompany digital transformation by analyzing business processes, identifying digitization potential, and developing transformation roadmaps.
- Co-create new digital business models with business units, considering market trends and technological possibilities.
- Harmonize the IT landscape by aligning business requirements with the application architecture and deriving consolidation recommendations.
- Manage stakeholders and moderate cross-functional workshops for requirements gathering and consensus-building between Business and IT.
- Create architecture blueprints and decision templates for management and present recommendations to leadership.
- Coordinate external consultants and ensure knowledge transfer and methodological consistency.
What We're Looking For
- A completed university degree in (Business) Informatics, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a comparable qualification.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Enterprise Architecture, Business Architecture, or strategic IT consulting.
- Experience in Business Capability Maps, Value Stream Mappings, Application Portfolio Management, and IT rationalization.
- Knowledge of common EA frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, ArchiMate, Zachman).
- Understanding of agile methods and their integration into EA practices.
- Deep understanding of business models, value chains, strategic corporate planning, and manufacturing processes (ideally in mechanical/plant engineering).
- Knowledge of current technology trends (Cloud, AI, IoT) and experience in digitization and transformation projects.
- Strong analytical, conceptual, and communication skills as well as high moderation and stakeholder competence.
- Independent, structured way of working, team skills, and experience with external consultants.
- Negotiation-level German and fluent English (minimum B2).
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of EA tools (e.g., LeanIX, Ardoq, BiZZdesign, Alfabet, LUY).
- Experience in mechanical/plant engineering manufacturing processes.
