About the Role

Lockheed Martin Canada is hiring an Engineering Project Management Senior Staff to be accountable for the overall Engineering and Technology (E&T) performance of the Canadian Surface Combatant (CSC) project. You will lead a team of engineers across multiple disciplines, ensuring technical excellence, mission success, and the delivery of program objectives on cost and schedule.

What You'll Do

  • Provide timely and accurate resource requirements for people, skills, tools, and infrastructure.
  • Ensure E&T functional stakeholder engagement in program oversight and cost estimating reviews.
  • Monitor program performance including earned value management and technical progress measures.
  • Ensure technical and programmatic risks and dependencies are identified, managed, and elevated appropriately.
  • Ensure the technical integrity of all program products.
  • Document, track, maintain, and verify the requirements baseline.
  • Establish and track key Technical Performance Measures (TPMs).
  • Track the maturity of the technical baseline and manage technical debt.
  • Ensure adherence to adequate and appropriately adapted E&T processes.
  • Support mentoring and career development for the program team.
  • Proactively communicate with all constituents.
  • Drive the technical definition and development of the System Architecture.
  • Perform engineering planning and statusing, including Earned Value Management (EVM) activities.
  • Perform requirements analysis and trade studies.
  • Review requirements and requirements allocation.
  • Perform system architecture, modelling, and design, including Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
  • Define and track Technical Performance Metrics (TPMs).
  • Develop system integration planning and design documentation.
  • Ensure the use of systems engineering processes and best practices.
  • Continuously drive process excellence to enhance project execution.
  • Interact with customers to ensure their involvement and overall satisfaction.

What We're Looking For

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in software, hardware, systems, mechanical, electrical, electronics engineering, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 12 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Equivalent experience or combined education will be considered.
  • Experience leading technical teams as a Technical Director (TD), Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead, or EPM on significant Naval or defense projects.
  • Experience with Ship Design, Software, Systems, Hardware, or Maintenance engineering lifecycles.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical staff and management.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • An aptitude for solving challenging problems in a team environment.
  • A high degree of initiative, autonomy, and learning ability.
  • The ability to adapt and perform in a dynamic environment.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with SysML or other object-oriented design methodologies.
  • Familiarity with tools like DOORS, CAMEO, Jira, or Windchill.
  • Experience with Agile methods.
  • Experience within the Military Naval domain.
  • Experience with Sensors, Weapons, or Ship integration.
  • Experience with Change Management, Requirements Management, Test and trials, Security, Safety, EMI/EMC, or Environmental Qualification.
  • Experience with Ship Design, Architecture, or Installation.
