We are hiring an Engineering Manager - Merchandising Technology to lead a team of software engineers focused on transforming our inventory planning and purchasing processes.
What You'll Do
- Mentor and coach software engineers, fostering professional growth and a culture of innovation.
- Set clear goals and objectives for your teams, ensuring alignment with business priorities and the i360 initiative.
- Drive the end-to-end delivery of technology solutions, from requirements gathering through design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
- Collaborate extensively with product managers, activation squads, architects, and stakeholders to define roadmaps and deliver results.
- Champion agile methodologies, facilitating ceremonies and promoting best practices.
- Balance development across custom software, packaged software, and SaaS tools, selecting the right approach for each challenge.
- Ensure high quality, reliability, and scalability in all delivered systems supporting merchandising and inventory planning.
- Monitor and improve team performance, workflow, and morale.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, recommending strategic improvements.
- Advocate for and facilitate a diverse, inclusive, and collaborative working environment.
- Manage and deliver end-to-end digital programs and initiatives leveraging agile principles.
- Develop digital training and development programs.
- Manage a portfolio of projects and report to senior colleagues.
- Contribute to the development of budget plans.
- Lead in detecting and analyzing cybersecurity incidents and remediate security gaps.
- Communicate actions needed to implement strategy and motivate the team.
- Use development frameworks to identify team development needs and provide informal training.
- Manage and report on team performance, set objectives, and take corrective action.
What We're Looking For
- 6 to 10+ years of overall professional experience.
- 1 to 3 years of experience supervising and directing people and resources to achieve results.
- Experience in retail technology.
- Wide and deep experience providing direction and guidance in data engineering.
- Experience with data engineering tools such as Google Big Query, Snowflake, and Databricks.
- Experience with modeling complex data.
- Experience leading data engineering teams as a manager.
- Experience of planning and managing resources to deliver predetermined objectives.
- Experience leading teams of contractors in an onshore/offshore engagement.
- Experience managing, mentoring, and growing the careers of data engineers.
Nice to Have
- Master's Degree or Equivalent Level preferred.
- Experience with Merchandising Planning software (Financial Planning, In Season Planning, Open To Buy, Inventory Planning).
- Experience with Blue Yonder and SAS retail planning solutions.

Team & Environment
You will lead a dynamic team of software engineers and work closely with product management, the i360 activation squad, and the architecture team.
