Fieldguide is seeking an Engineering Manager, Infrastructure Platform to lead the team responsible for our core platform infrastructure. You will ensure the stability, resiliency, security, and performance of our systems while translating high-level strategy into an actionable roadmap and concrete goals in our fast-paced, remote-first startup environment.

What You'll Do

Manage, mentor, and inspire a team of 3–8 infrastructure and SRE engineers, fostering a high-performance and inclusive team culture.
Own quarterly planning, prioritize and define a roadmap of infrastructure initiatives aligned with engineering strategy, and drive execution to meet goals.
Take responsibility for the reliability, availability, and performance of Fieldguide’s platform, overseeing efforts to harden systems for high uptime and fault tolerance.
Champion initiatives that improve developer experience, including evolving CI/CD pipelines, build/test infrastructure, and internal developer tools.
Lead major technical projects such as multi-region deployments, enhancing observability and telemetry, and implementing security and compliance measures.
Make high-level technical decisions, review architecture and designs, help troubleshoot complex issues, and maintain standards for code quality and operational best practices.
Work closely with the Head of Engineering and other leaders to translate platform strategy and OKRs into team-level plans, communicating direction and priorities to stakeholders.

What We're Looking For

3–6+ years of engineering management experience, including successfully leading teams of software or infrastructure engineers.
~10+ years of overall software engineering experience with significant focus in infrastructure, DevOps, or platform engineering roles.
Deep knowledge of modern cloud infrastructure and operational best practices, including hands-on experience with AWS, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, Terraform, networking, and system security.
Proven ability to plan and deliver complex engineering projects that improved reliability, scalability, or developer productivity.
Comfortable diving into technical details, contributing to architectural discussions, conducting reviews, and guiding incident post-mortems.
Excellent communicator and collaborator, effective at communicating vision and technical concepts to both engineers and executives.
Thrives in a fast-paced, agile, startup environment, balancing urgency with thoughtfulness and taking ownership of outcomes.
