ABBYY is hiring an Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

  • Guide and support two backend development teams totaling approximately eight engineers, focusing on growth and skill development
  • Hold regular individual meetings, assess performance, and support career progression through structured feedback
  • Work with recruiting and human resources to attract high-caliber engineers and establish scalable onboarding and advancement processes
  • Promote an environment of trust, open communication, ongoing learning, and high engineering standards
  • Serve as a top-tier technical expert for backend platforms and systems
  • Lead key architectural choices involving technologies such as .NET (C#), Node.js, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, and Cloudflare Workers
  • Establish and maintain coding standards, testing approaches, and reliable deployment practices
  • Act as the primary contact for resolving difficult technical and system design issues
  • Collaborate closely with product management to shape roadmaps, set project boundaries, and ensure dependable delivery
  • Track team productivity, eliminate obstacles, and maintain consistent execution of deliverables
  • Coordinate with platform engineering and site reliability teams on service level agreements, monitoring, system stability, and cost efficiency
  • Advocate for the responsible and efficient integration of AI-powered development tools across engineering groups
