Jobgether is hiring an Engineering Manager - Frontend to lead our distributed engineering organization. In this remote role, you will guide the evolution of our React and Next.js-based platforms, balancing strategic oversight with hands-on technical engagement to foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
What You'll Do
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of ~12 frontend engineers and ~4 QA engineers across distributed locations.
- Build a high-trust, high-performance culture through regular 1:1s, career development plans, and coaching.
- Shape and oversee frontend architecture, including React and Next.js platforms, SSR strategies, and performance optimization.
- Review complex designs and pull requests, provide technical guidance, and unblock challenging issues.
- Drive predictable delivery through effective processes, metrics, and team rituals.
- Elevate code quality with a strong review culture, testing standards, and automation practices.
- Partner with QA teams to strengthen test coverage, reduce regressions, and increase release confidence.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between frontend, backend, product, design, and QA teams.
- Translate product priorities into achievable technical plans and communicate trade-offs, risks, and progress.
What We're Looking For
- 7+ years of experience building modern frontend applications with deep expertise in React and TypeScript.
- Strong understanding of Next.js, including Server vs Client Components, SSR strategies, and performance optimization.
- 3+ years managing engineering teams, including hiring, mentoring, and scaling teams.
- Experience managing or collaborating closely with QA teams and implementing quality practices.
- Proficiency with frontend tools and architecture, including Redux Toolkit, Jest, Storybook, Webpack, Turbopack, and Turborepo.
- Strong knowledge of secure authentication, session management, and SSR patterns.
- Clear communicator able to bridge technical and business needs, lead distributed teams, and influence stakeholders.
- Collaborative, empathetic leadership style with a growth mindset and problem-solving orientation.
Nice to Have
- Experience in iGaming, high-traffic applications, Node.js, multi-brand systems, service workers, Zod, or edge computing.
