Jobgether is hiring an Engineering Manager to lead the team responsible for our discovery engine that connects customers to millions of products across retailers. You will drive the strategy, execution, and technical roadmap for ranking and retrieval systems in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

What You'll Do

Lead and grow a team of 7+ engineers, providing coaching, clear goals, and performance development opportunities.
Own the technical roadmap for cross-retailer ranking and retrieval systems, ensuring low-latency, high-availability services.
Partner with Product, Applied Science, and Data Science teams to define success metrics, design experiments, and deliver measurable business impact.
Advance production ML systems, including feature pipelines, candidate generation, vector search, and re-ranking.
Implement multi-task learning, personalization, and generative AI signals to optimize relevance and user experience.
Champion engineering excellence, including code quality, incident response, privacy, and responsible AI practices.

What We're Looking For

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
7+ years of experience building large-scale backend and/or ML-powered systems for search, recommendation, or ads.
2+ years managing a team of 5+ engineers.
Proficiency in Python, Java, or Go, with strong knowledge of distributed systems and cloud infrastructure (AWS or GCP).
Hands-on experience with production ranking/retrieval stacks (Elasticsearch/OpenSearch or vector search), feature/data pipelines (Kafka, Spark, Flink), and online experimentation (A/B testing).
Proven ability to drive measurable business outcomes (CTR, conversion, revenue/GTV) through data-driven product and engineering decisions.

Nice to Have

Advanced degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or related field.
Experience with LLMs or generative signals.
Expertise in marketplace-scale low-latency search systems.
Strong hiring and team-building experience.
Familiarity with privacy and responsible AI practices.
