DoorDash is expanding its engineering hub in São Paulo, Brazil, and is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead a team of talented engineers. In this role, you will drive the execution of the product roadmap, collaborate with cross-functional partners, and help build world-class logistics technology in a dynamic and inclusive environment.
What You'll Do
- Lead and grow a team of exceptional engineers, empowering through delegation, and delivering end-to-end engineering solutions.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Business leaders, and key stakeholders to determine the team's roadmap and vision, and manage execution against that roadmap.
- Provide architectural guidance and professional development for a team of 9.
- Encourage innovation, teamwork, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, and outside-of-the-box thinking.
- Oversee the hiring process for your team, in partnership with recruiting, to grow a diverse and inclusive team.
What We're Looking For
- BS, M.S., or PhD in Computer Science or related field
- 2+ years of experience in people management leading backend teams of 5+ engineers
- 7+ years of industry experience
- Experience working with remote teams in different time zone(s) and fluency in English
- Extensive experience as an engineer in a fast-paced, product-focused development environment
- Experience with distributed system design, system scaling, and performance optimization
- Hands-on leadership and strong product intuition
- Experience in B2B product development
- Experience in data integrations via API, file exchange, self service tooling, etc
- Humility - willing to get into the details and open to feedback
