AECOM is looking for an Engineer - Rail Design to join our team. You'll be responsible for developing designs through various project stages, undertaking coordination, and carrying out design documentation while working as part of the project team. This role involves performing specific portions of broader assignments as an experienced engineer.
What You'll Do
- Contribute to the development of technical proposals.
- Develop design by gathering, correlating, and analysing engineering data using computer software and established procedures and standards.
- Collect and analyse information from discipline and interdisciplinary project BIM models when possible.
- Fully develop design content by applying design and technical knowledge to ensure high-quality outputs within project timelines.
- Participate in interdisciplinary reviews of project deliverables, including BIM spatial reviews like virtual walkthroughs and clash detection.
- Work on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations, specifications, sketches, diagrams, BIM models, drawings, reports, and tender documents.
- Identify discrepancies in results and propose approaches to solving new problems.
- Perform work under agreed-upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision.
- Coordinate with other discipline Engineers for design process continuity.
- Maintain and develop technical skills to ensure model production quality by BIM/CAD teams for accuracy to design instructions.
- Coordinate with authorities for scheme approvals.
- Begin to participate in client meetings to discuss requirements and explain work.
- Participate in the development and preparation of bids and proposals.
- Guide Graduate Engineers and provide design input to CAD/BIM technicians.
