The City of New York's Department of Consumer and Worker Protection (DCWP) is hiring an Enforcement Audit Specialist. As a member of the Special Enforcement Team, you will conduct complex investigations and audits to ensure compliance with city and state codes, playing a critical role in upholding the integrity of construction and certification processes.
What You'll Do
- Conduct complex investigations and audits of Professional Certification and Directive 14 job applications to determine compliance with relevant codes and laws.
- Identify false statements and documents submitted to the Department.
- Prepare written reports detailing code deficiencies found during audits.
- Conduct follow-up meetings with applicants, owners, and representatives to review audit results and amend applications for compliance.
- Assist legal staff in preparing enforcement cases against non-compliant design professionals.
- Issue violations and testify at enforcement hearings before the Office of Administrative Trials and Hearings.
- Assist or conduct special projects, including research, investigations, studies, and audits on code-related subjects.
- Perform field inspections as warranted.
What We're Looking For
- Four (4) years of full-time, satisfactory experience in civil engineering work.
- A valid New York State Professional Engineer’s License, which must be maintained for the duration of employment.
Team & Environment
You will be part of the Special Enforcement Team (SET), a multidisciplinary unit composed of legal, technical, and support staff, and will report to the Chief and Director of SET.

- Salary Range: USD93,614 - USD107,656
