The City of New York’s Department of Consumer and Worker Protection (DCWP) seeks a Special Assistant and Coordinator for its General Counsel Division. In this role, you will coordinate legal and non-legal projects, analyze processes for efficiency, and manage the administrative workflow for senior leadership.
What You'll Do
- Research and draft documents including correspondence, memoranda, invoices, protocols, and procedures.
- Perform investigations and fact-finding for projects overseen by the General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel.
- Coordinate and schedule travel, meetings, and appointments for senior division leadership.
- Prepare agendas, schedules, and reports for meetings; record and distribute minutes.
- Retrieve information from records, email, and other documents; prepare written data summaries.
- Assist with divisional operations like budget planning, recruitment, onboarding, and staff trainings.
- Provide back-up support for the external audit process.
- Help resolve and respond to administrative inquiries.
- Manage document systems and administrative records in coordination with the Law Department.
- Conduct system evaluation and optimization.
- Lead ad hoc projects at the direction of the General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel.
What We're Looking For
- A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization.
- One year of satisfactory clerical experience.
- Keyboard familiarity with the ability to type at a minimum of 100 key strokes (20 words) per minute.

You will be part of the General Counsel Division, reporting directly to the General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel.
Benefits & Compensation
- Compensation range: USD46,503 - USD61,525.

This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, with locations in New York City.
