About the Role

Western Digital is hiring a Sr. Manager, Endpoint Engineering to own the strategy and implementation of enterprise-wide endpoint management. You will drive workforce productivity and security, empower innovation for a global employee base, and strengthen device resiliency in alignment with corporate standards.

What You'll Do

  • Define and implement the enterprise-wide endpoint engineering strategy for provisioning, configuration, management, security, and device lifecycle.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a global team of endpoint engineers.
  • Design, deploy, and manage enterprise standards for Operating System (OS) imaging, patching, security updates, and configuration baselines.
  • Oversee endpoint lifecycle management from procurement and deployment to decommissioning.
  • Drive evaluation, selection, and implementation of endpoint management and Digital Experience platforms (Intune, SCCM, JAMF, NexThink, etc.).
  • Implement automation and orchestration for endpoint provisioning, updates, and compliance using PowerShell, Python, and enterprise orchestration tools.
  • Establish and monitor Digital Experience Monitoring (DEX) scores to measure and improve end-user satisfaction.
  • Maintain best practices for virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) and mobile device management.
  • Implement and maintain endpoint security solutions, including antivirus, Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR), encryption, and zero-trust policies.
  • Lead endpoint vulnerability management, ensuring patch compliance across global devices, including 3rd party applications patching.
  • Partner with InfoSec and Compliance teams to meet regulatory and corporate security requirements.
  • Collaborate with business units, engineering teams, and manufacturing operations teams to support unique endpoint requirements.
  • Drive adoption of modern cloud-based endpoint capabilities (Azure AD, Windows 365, Office 365 ecosystem integrations).
  • Explore and implement emerging technologies to enhance device performance, user experience, and workplace productivity.
  • Partner with Global Service Desk, Deskside Support, and IT Service Management (ITSM) teams to ensure seamless integration of endpoint management processes.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Managerial level of IT experience, with a focus on endpoint engineering, systems administration, or IT operations.
  • Extensive experience in a leadership/management role, with experience leading global engineering teams.
  • Strong technical expertise in endpoint management solutions (Intune, SCCM, JAMF, NexThink, Airwatch) and OS platforms (Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, Linux).
  • Proven experience with automation and orchestration (PowerShell, Python, etc.).
  • Experience with virtualization and cloud technologies (Azure, Office 365, W365, VDI platforms).
  • Deep knowledge of endpoint security (encryption, patching, Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR), zero trust, vulnerability management).
  • Experience with IT Asset Management (ITAM) and PagerDuty platform management.
  • Familiarity with ITSM tools (ServiceNow) and digital workplace technologies.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to deliver complex engineering initiatives on time and within budget.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across business units and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
