Monzo is looking for an Employee Relations Advisor to partner with our People team in creating positive working relationships and supporting managers in handling employee relations issues. You will manage a varied ER caseload, develop and implement policies, analyze trends, and deliver training.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate with and support managers to resolve ER issues fairly and consistently in line with Monzo’s People policies.
- Ensure all formal ER cases are logged and managed accurately in the case management system.
- Develop, communicate, and implement Monzo-wide People policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with legislation.
- Proactively analyze People data to highlight trends and make suggestions to improve engagement and reduce risk.
- Design, deliver, and facilitate relevant ER training for managers.
- Provide note-taking support in formal ER cases, where required.
- Stay up-to-date with legislation changes and industry trends and make recommendations for change.
- Support other tasks, projects, or initiatives in the People collective, where required.
What We're Looking For
- Experience managing a high volume caseload of varied and complex ER cases, including litigation, disputes resolution, union involvement, tribunals, whistleblowing, and multi-faceted grievances.
- Detailed understanding of employment law and ER best practice.
- Confident managing conflict and giving advice that others may disagree with.
- Able to build strong, trusting relationships with multiple stakeholders at various levels of seniority.
- Highly organized, able to multitask, and comfortable working with changing priorities.
- Passionate about providing empathetic, kind people experiences even in the toughest of circumstances.
- Love problem solving and getting to the root of problems in a fair, consistent, and timely manner.
- Experience providing support with tribunal claims and/or early conciliation, working closely with Legal to resolve claims.
Nice to Have
- Experience working in a fast-paced FinTech or Financial Services business.
- Experience navigating employee relations across multiple jurisdictions, particularly in the EU and US.
- CIPD qualified.
- Experience with Google Suite and Slack.

- Compensation: £34,000 - £51,000 + equity in the form of share options.
