At Morgan Stanley, the Emerging Tech Engineer is a key driver of innovation, developing technology roadmaps and providing strategic direction to align initiatives with long-term business objectives. You will accelerate the adoption of innovative solutions by evaluating new technologies and facilitating their integration across the firm.

What You'll Do

Report to the Head of the Emerging Technology Team.
Drive business results aligned with Technology innovation and modernization, primarily in Cyber, AI/GenAI, and Data Science, and also in Cloud Computing, DevOps, Digital Assets, DLT/Blockchain, and Fintech.
Partner with key stakeholders to explore new market technologies.
Perform technical product evaluations and facilitate adoption by partnering with business and technologists to derive true business value.
Collaborate closely with Labs and Sector Coverage teams to prioritize business challenges and technology investments.
Drive accelerated end-to-end technical product evaluations from idea through to seeing business value realized.
Foster a collaborative environment and establish connectivity by disseminating emerging technology expertise.
Develop and launch enabling capabilities and partner with stakeholders in removing barriers to improve the overall process for technology evaluation and adoption.

What We're Looking For

7-10 years of relevant experience.
Strong technical aptitude, a learning mindset, and great communication skills.
Demonstrable hands-on experience in one or more of the key technology areas; Cyber or Data Science is preferred.
Strong and effective communications skills (written and verbal) to engage and influence senior leadership and peers globally.
Detail-oriented, self-starter able to work both independently and in a team environment.
Ability to lead, plan, organize, prioritize, and execute projects and tasks with minimal supervision in a rapidly changing environment.
Experience building proof of concept (PoC) environments in a cloud-based or on-premises lab.
Development experience with Python, or similar scripting languages for leveraging product SDKs/APIs for experimentation.

Nice to Have

Broad expertise within large financial services across enterprise infrastructure technologies (Windows, Linux, Databases, Networking, Storage, etc.).
Understanding of application architecture - HW, OS/containerization, DB + Application.
Demonstrable passion for emerging technology with expertise across domains.
Experience and passion for driving change within large organizations.
Familiarity with agile frameworks and tools such as JIRA.
