Role Overview
Join a remote-first, multi-brand organization as an Email Marketing Expert, where you’ll take full ownership of the email channel across several direct-to-consumer brands built on Shopify. This role is central to driving revenue through strategic campaign planning, lifecycle automation, and data-informed optimization. You’ll be responsible for every aspect of email marketing—from ideation to execution—and will work closely with each brand’s priorities to maximize return.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive email revenue as a percentage of total store performance, setting and meeting targets across multiple brands
- Develop and manage monthly campaign calendars aligned with product launches, seasonal trends, and inventory goals
- Monitor weekly performance metrics including revenue per recipient, click-through rate, order placement, and flow-to-campaign ratio, then implement data-backed improvements
- Design, launch, and refine core email sequences such as Welcome, Abandoned Cart, Browse Recovery, Post-Purchase, Win-Back, Sunset, Back-in-Stock, and VIP programs
- Create dynamic audience segments based on purchase history, engagement levels, browsing behavior, and predicted lifetime value
- Ensure no campaigns are sent to unsegmented, full lists—every send must be targeted
- Maintain strong sender reputation through proper authentication (SPF/DKIM/DMARC), list hygiene, and complaint rate management below 0.1%
- Write persuasive, conversion-focused copy using direct-response frameworks tailored to each brand’s tone
- Build responsive, on-brand email templates in Klaviyo or Figma with mobile-first design principles
- Run structured A/B tests on subject lines, send times, layouts, and CTA placement—documenting results for ongoing learning
What You Bring
- At least 3 years of hands-on email marketing experience in DTC or eCommerce, with deep expertise in Klaviyo
- Proven success in building revenue-generating email flows, not just promotional newsletters
- Track record of improving key metrics: email-attributed revenue, revenue per recipient, flow performance, and deliverability
- Ability to juggle multiple brand accounts without sacrificing quality or missing deadlines
- Strong writing and design skills—you can craft compelling copy and build effective layouts independently
- Familiarity with email deliverability best practices, including inbox placement, sender reputation, and list maintenance
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience with Shopify Plus and common DTC tools like Recharge, Yotpo, Rebuy, or Gorgias
- Working knowledge of HTML and CSS for custom email development
- Use of AI-powered tools for copy generation, personalization, or workflow automation
- Agency or multi-brand background managing three or more distinct audiences
