About the Role

Indiana Digital Learning School is looking for an Elementary Teacher to deliver specific course content in an online environment for K-5 students. You will provide instruction, support, and guidance while focusing on students’ individual needs and building relationships with families and learning coaches.

What You'll Do

  • Provide rich and engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences.
  • Commit to personalizing learning and demonstrate a belief in all students’ ability to succeed.
  • Differentiate instruction based on student level of mastery.
  • Augment course content using appropriate asynchronous and synchronous tools.
  • Maintain grade book ensuring academic integrity and make promotion decisions.
  • Alert administrators to concerns about student performance.
  • Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests.
  • Establish and maintain positive rapport with families and communicate in a timely manner.
  • Support learning coaches with curricular, instructional issues, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Travel approximately 20% of the time for professional development, testing, and school functions.
  • Monitor student progress through the learning management system.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Active state teaching license.
  • Ability to clear required background check.
  • Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week.
  • Ability to maintain a professional, distraction-free home office.
  • Ability to work collaboratively to interpret and produce representations of student data.
  • Receptive to receiving coaching regularly with administrators and teacher trainers.
  • Ability to embrace change and adapt to ensure excellent student outcomes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms.
  • Ability to maintain certification and fluency in K12 systems, programs and curriculum.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with the proposed age group.
  • Experience supporting adults and children in the use of technology.
  • Experience teaching in an online and/or brick-and-mortar environment.
  • Experience with online learning platforms.
