Matrix Aviation Management is seeking a temporary Journeyman/Red Seal Electrician for a remote Canadian project location. This role offers the opportunity to work in a remote, picturesque environment and utilize your electrical expertise in a camp/logistics setting. You will focus on inspecting, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing electrical components while adhering to strict safety and quality standards.
What You'll Do
- Inspecting, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing electrical components.
- Testing circuits and connections using electrical test equipment.
- Inspecting equipment and ensuring proper maintenance and repairs are completed, while adhering to timelines and budget restrictions.
- Responsible for ordering electrical parts.
- Preparation and site clean-up, including rubbish removal.
- Proficient with building code regulations as it relates to worksite building electrical assembly and repairs.
- Assist in the completion of all necessary documentation as per process / protocol to ensure cost effectiveness and budget allocation.
- Provide quality workmanship consistent with industry standards and stakeholder expectations.
- Understand the basics of reading and interpreting blueprints.
- Participate in daily Toolbox meetings and support monthly work-site inspections.
- Perform tasks according to safe work practices and safe job procedures.
- Notify Manager of unsafe practices and unsafe environment.
- Report all incidents and accidents immediately.
- Actively participate as a high performing, team member.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum of three (3) years working in a construction field/camp environment.
- Certified Journeyman Electrician (Red Seal).
- Service Experience in electrical (ability to set connections for live transfer).
- Solid verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to work a rotation schedule.
- Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
- Be in good health and physically lift with the ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Able to walk and stand for long periods of time and perform physical labor.
- Ability to maintain a high level of performance over a 12 hour shift.
Nice to Have
- Electrical Controls experience considered an asset.
- Supervisory experience and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Valid Drivers License preferred.
- Standard First Aid Certification.
- WHMIS Certification.
- Previous experience working in remote camp setting.
- Proficient in all aspects of electrical repair and replacement.
