Medeco Security Locks is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join the New Product Development Team. You will be responsible for all electrical design functions to support rapidly expanding electronic security product lines, transitioning concepts into production.
What You'll Do
- Design hardware and firmware for microcontroller-based products.
- Create and complete electrical component and system-level designs.
- Create Bills-of-Materials and technical documentation to support electrical designs.
- Transition new products from concept into production through support, training, and cross-departmental communications.
- Manage, participate in, and lead development teams creating early prototypes with potential customers.
- Create technical design specifications and test plan requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
- 3+ years of work experience; new product development background preferred.
- Hardware design experience with digital and analog circuits.
- Experience in design of wireless RF communications.
- Experience in PCB design, layout, and assembly; preferably using Altium software.
- Ambition, energy, and drive to continuously improve processes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to travel approximately 10%.
Nice to Have
- Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience with battery power optimization, low power electro-mechanical actuators, micro-motors, and solenoids.
- Circuit design and embedded code development utilizing MicroChip PIC, ATMEL, ARM microcontrollers.
- A working knowledge of .NET, TCP/IP, Ethernet, and communication protocols.
- Experience in manufacturing and testing (e.g., HALT, Standards).
- Project management skills.
- Strong team player with excellent time management skills.
