About the Role
The Drafter/Engineer will play a key role in translating design concepts into precise technical documentation. This position supports the delivery of construction projects by ensuring drawings are accurate, compliant, and aligned with engineering and architectural plans.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed technical drawings using CAD software
- Support engineering designs from concept through to completion
- Collaborate with project teams to interpret design requirements
- Revise and update drawings based on feedback and site changes
- Ensure compliance with building codes and safety regulations
- Produce as-built documentation for project handover
- Assist in the development of project specifications
- Coordinate with contractors and consultants
- Maintain accurate records of all design iterations
- Conduct site visits to verify design implementation
- Perform basic engineering calculations
- Create 2D and 3D models for client presentations
- Support quality assurance processes
- Manage multiple project deadlines efficiently
- Use BIM tools where applicable
- Assist in cost estimation based on design plans
- Review vendor drawings for technical accuracy
- Participate in design coordination meetings
- Ensure drawings meet accessibility and sustainability standards
- Work closely with senior engineers on complex systems
