About the Role

Donor Network of Arizona is looking for a Donor Legacy Charge (DLC) to provide charge leadership and operational oversight for Donor Legacy shift activities. This critical role serves as the shift lead, delivering real-time logistical direction, supporting high-quality case management, and ensuring compassionate family donation conversations.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as the Donor Legacy shift leader, providing real-time oversight, operational decision-making, staff deployment, and workload balancing.
  • Function as a Donor Legacy Advocate in time-sensitive or high-acuity situations as needed.
  • Provide immediate coaching, guidance, and emotional support to DLAs during routine and complex cases.
  • Support strategy development and escalate risks or concerns to On-Duty Donor Legacy Risk when appropriate.
  • Review case and family information, advising on timing and approach for authorization discussions.
  • Support DLAs in facilitating compassionate, informed, and ethical family donation conversations in alignment with policy and regulation.
  • Work closely with the Organ Advisor on Call, Referral Optimization Charge, ORO, and Hospital Engagement & Strategy teams to ensure accurate, timely information exchange and coordinated care planning.
  • Review documentation and case activity in real time for accuracy and quality.
  • Identify workflow trends and opportunities, provide training feedback, and participate in case reviews, debriefings, and performance analysis.
  • Attend required meetings, maintain current knowledge of SOPs and CEU requirements, and complete additional duties and special projects as assigned by Donor Legacy leadership.

Team & Environment

You'll collaborate with cross-functional partners including Organ Advisor on Call, Referral Optimization Charge, ORO, and Hospital Engagement & Strategy teams, reporting directly to Donor Legacy leadership.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities Shift Leadership & Operations: Serves as the Donor Legacy shift leader, providing real-time oversight, operational decision-making, staff deployment, and workload balancing. Functions as a DLA in time-sensitive or high-acuity situations as needed. Staff Coaching & Support: Provides immediate coaching, guidance, and emotional support to DLAs during routine and complex cases; supports strategy development and escalates risks or concerns to On-Duty Donor Legacy Risk when appropriate. Family Donation Conversation Support: Reviews case and family information, advises on timing and approach for authorization discussions, and supports DLAs in facilitating compassionate, informed, and ethical family donation conversations in alignment with policy and regulation. Collaboration & Communication: Works closely with the Organ Advisor on Call (AOC), Referral Optimization Charge (ROC), ORO, and Hospital Engagement & Strategy (HE&S) teams to ensure accurate, timely information exchange and coordinated care planning. Quality, Performance & Development: Reviews documentation and case activity in real time for accuracy and quality, identifies workflow trends and opportunities, provides training feedback, and participates in case reviews, debriefings, and performance analysis. Administrative & Organizational Responsibilities: Attends required meetings, maintains current knowledge of SOPs and CEU requirements, and completes additional duties and special projects as assigned by Donor Legacy leadership. Preferred Education Master’s degree Preferred Experience Experience in OPO lead, preceptor, charge or supervisory capacity.
